Delta Indonesia is the first album of guitarist, Adrian Adioetomo. After several attempts to promote his pop album (which was rejected by major recording labels), Adrian realized that his passion is in the blues. He then decided to make his own album, Delta Indonesia, which was released independently through My Seeds Records (Batch #3).
Several music observers believe that this may be the only album with delta blues genre ever released by Indonesian musician.
Adrian plays his music using old guitars with steel resonator such as Woodboy Dobro (1932), National Duolian (1931), Jim Dunlop Steel slide and a foot tap board. It looks like Adrian really wants to revolve in real blues sound, transferring blues setting on the period of slavery into Indonesian landscape through series of expressions.
Almost all songs are recorded live by Adrian himself in the comfort of his own personal bedroom using only a laptop, enabling him to let unusual noises from the outside merge with the blues that he was playing. To create the atmosphere of a 1930s recording session, Adrian puts dust and scratches effects imitating the sound of a 78 rpm vinyl record. All songs are made by himself, except track number 5 “Keep Your Lamps trimmed and Burning”, a traditional blues song translated into “Tetaplah Kau Berjalan”.
