What does a music major do when he graduates from college in the United States? Go into banking, of course. Gita Wirjawan may head up JP Morgan in Jakarta now but his true passion comes through in the music of Cherokee. Wirjawan produced the band’s first album and also wrote and played piano on several of the tracks on “Inner Beauty.” The 2003 release of light jazz tracks features uplifting vocal contributions from Uci Nurul and Joel Achmad, along with superb performances by a host of talented Indonesian musicians.
