CRONIK is one of the few hip-hop acts to come out of the fiercely indie-rock city of Bandung in West Java. The guys got started by doing Saturday night performances on the city's famous Dago street back in 2002. With three djs and three MCs, the group began competing at the Festival Kolaborasi in June, 2003. To their surprise, they took home the grand prize and immediately began getting attention from the local music press. Critics took notice of each rapper's unique style and each dj's different approach to scratching. The combination has won them many fans in the growing world of Indonesian hip-hop and rap.

BIOGRAPHY
DJ Itchy Scratchy
Started out battling in junior high back in 1995 and went on to compete at the Battle DJ competition in Bandung.
With the support of friends and family he went to join CRONIK.
DJ E
Started out back in 2000 at the Battle DJ competition in Bandung.
He went on to join the hip-hop group Homicide before moving on to CRONIK.
DJ Odotto
Started out as a hip-hop DJ and continues to compete around Indonesia.
MC Lick
Born in Jakarta in 1978, this MC has been rapping since 1994. Before CRONIK he was into the Hip-Metal scene and now that influence makes him a unique voice in the group.
Da Bozo
This outrageous character was born in Jakarta in 1980. He started out with the band Lick before discovering that hip-hop was his true calling.
Rock-Z
A big fan of tattoos, this Bandung-native was born in 1979. He's been a staple of the underground scene since determining that hip-hop runs in his blood.
