| INDIEFEST
It takes a steady hand to sort through hundreds of bands in search of a nation’s most promising young talent but that is what Djarum set out to do with this 2006 release. The company put considerable resources from its LA Lights team into auditioning and listening to bands from Yogyakarta, Bandung and Surabaya. With the able help of indie veterans at FastForward Records the team came up with Indiefest, a solid compilation of 12 bands that took more than a year to put together. From bossa nova to Brit pop, the influences are as spread out as the cities from which they come. The variety of music underscores Djarum’s commitment to discovering new talent and providing a rare opportunity for these bands to have their music promoted and packaged in a professional way that few unsigned bands get to experience. Discover the potential of these 12 acts and be on the lookout for more as they take to the airwaves and get the recognition they deserve.
