When the band came together back in 2002, their stated goal was to create music that “bridged the gap between high and low art.” A pretty lofty goal for a bunch of kids at the University of Gajah Mada but, then again, that’s what college students do and this quartet does it well. Delving into the realms of psychedelic, progressive and art rock, the band explores its creative side through a mixture of multimedia visuals and performance art on stage. Their shows have earned them a strong following on local campuses and even an invitation to play at the 2004 Singapore Street Festival. The group performed a musical interpretation of Terry McDonagh’s poetry anthology “No Place in the Marshes” to critical acclaim but fans of less high-brow rock n’ roll should also find reason to rejoice at this solid first outing from one of Yogyakarta’s finest acts.
