Whether it was boredom or frustration they're not sure but something brought
these guys together back in 2004. They'd known each for years from the contact they'd had playing in their respective bands.
Wiz was playing in various punk bands, Zio anchored a few jazz-rock outfits, Morris was doing a nu-metal thing and Marshelo
was busy in the world of television talent shows and commercials. Then, unexpectedly, in July of that year they realized that
they shared the same love of Elvis Presley and the Stray Cats and thought it is time that Bali had its own rockabilly pioneers.
Six months later they had 12 tracks and a debut album called "Saturday Night Riot." Similar acts have since popped up
on the island and they all add to a vibrant scene but if you have a chance to catch THE HYDRANT live, you'll agree that this
band remains one of the best live acts of any genre in Bali.
