Tony Prabowo

 
           

tony prabowo

Born in 1956, Prabowo is one of Indonesia's most prominent and prolific composers of contemporary music. Apart from his works with western ensembles, he has also composed unique contemporary works with traditional Indonesian musicians.
Prabowo's music has been performed in the US, Europe, Australia and South Korea.

Mediation on Lu Xun II
(His first choral work, premiered by
the Batavia Madrigal Singers and
conducted by Avip Priatna in 2000)
won first prize at the Choir Festival
in Linz, Austria

The King's Witch
An experimental opera performed
(without stage dramatization) by
the New Juilliard Ensemble at Alice
Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in 2000
