triple-x

Hip hop might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Bali, much less hip-hop in Balinese. Yet Triple-X hit the mics with a verbal assault that might make Chuck D proud. The first album by this trio is an acquired taste, as the band admits, but then again so is most rap music. "Taste, pleasure and dreams are all relative," says frontman Rah'mink. "We're all about expressing ourselves and our desires." A love of rap mixed with their love from Bali, however, comes through clearly on this promising debut release.
